Oh dear - I've really lost my mojo this weekend :( I had my last exam on Friday, and I've done nothing since. I've just made this card quickly as I didn't want to miss the CCC challenge, which this week was (as the title says!) 'Shape It'.
I cut the oval from a card blank using a Fiskars oval template, then stamped the images (7 Gypsies and Dovecraft) in sage and black Whispers inks. I've tied 2 scraps of Laura Ashley ribbon around the join to add a little interest. It's not my favourite card, but at least I've tried something new!

Sick-Bed Cards

Having been ill all week and unable to concentrate on revision, I took my mind off it with some card-making. These are my first ever Gorjuss Girl cards; I don't think I'll ever be able to part with them, lol. There's no sentiment on the blue card yet, I'll wait until I either have an occasion or see something that I think will look 'right' on it.

I felt the need to keep these two cards fairly simple and uncluttered, I think these gorjuss girls make enough of a statement on their own.

My daughter loves this stamp. I think when I made this card, it was as much to cheer myself up with these bright colours as anything else.

Finally the camera is working! This is my entry for this week's Creative Card Crew challenge - Minimal. I've had this card blank for ages; I never know what to do with such heavily textured cards. The paper was free with an old magazine, as was the sentiment. A simple card, I hope it fits the brief.

Happy Mail - Girl

Here's my second card for the Cute Card Thursday challenge (see below). It's the first time I've made more than one card to enter into a challenge, but it's for such a good cause I decided to do one card for a girl and one for a boy. Big thanks to Rusty for the stamped images.
Apologies for the poor quality photos - I'm still having to use the camera on my mobile phone.

Happy Mail - Boy

The challenge on Cute Card Thursday is to create a card that will "cheer someone up or make their day". They are asking that every card entered is then forwarded to a child via the Post Pals website. Reading the testimonials on the website shows how such a simple act really can make a difference.

This week's challenge at CCC is to have some form of embossing on your card - this card has some flowers embossed from a brass stencil on the green card. I like the simplicity of this card and the fresh colours; it's not often that I'm happy with a card that doesn't have more DP on it.
This is also the first card I've made that features an image coloured with copics - I think I shall be buying more colours!

The latest challenge on MSE is to make a 'green' card. At first I thought there was something missing on this one, but I think I'm actually quite happy with it now!
DPs are Dovecraft; ribbon and stamp are Papermania (the stamp was free with this month's copy of do crafts Creativity magazine). The butterfly was embossed from a brass stencil onto pink vellum, cut out, and detail added with a pink Sakura souffle pen.
Not sure how I'll get this into an envelope without squashing the butterfly!

There's some blog candy on offer over at cindersmcphee's. Go on over and have a look at her revamped blog :)
Until someone can tell me how to add links to blog candy in my sidebar (or preferably how to add another sidebar for links on the right-hand side of my page!), I'll be adding them as new posts. Apologies to anyone who links from their dashboard thinking they're going to see a new card.

This week's challenge at CCC was to follow a sketch. I'm not sure if this is too busy? It took me forever to decide what papers to use - I went for Basic Grey in the end. Apologies for the poor quality photo - I've broken my camera so had to use my phone for this one.
