It was a few months ago now, but with all the excitement of Las Vegas and the trouble I've had with blogs, I've only just got around to blogging it now. I'd like to enter it for the current challenge on the Forever Friends challenge blog, which is Numbers. I hope it's okay as even though it's not exactly a new make, it is the first time it's been blogged!
I love the effect of the numbers here - they're chipboard coloured with promarkers to match the card, then coated in Anita's clear gloss. This was also my first attempt at making an easel card from scratch (as opposed to butchering 2 readymade cards IYSWIM).cazsmumhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07145545927351118721noreply@blogger.com13tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-155929429410345246.post-81484214275449927012010-04-16T18:24:00.002+01:002010-04-16T18:26:24.346+01:00Not cards!

I've been playing with felt over the last couple of weeks, and came up with these keyrings/bag charms. They're not complete, I want to add some beads and keyrings to them. I forgot to put a ribbon through the pink mushroom, so sewed a brooch pin to the back of it instead. :) The black rose in the bottom right hand corner is made from wired ribbon that I bought from a craft fair at the NEC after seeing a demo of how to make the flowers - again, it has a brooch pin stitched to the bottom.
The bottom's a bit tatty, but I'm sure my best friend will love it anyway! The material came from fabric samples from John Lewis and the buttons were in my stash, so it didn't cost me anything. I've finally found a 3 column layout that I'm happy with and have been busy tweaking the html - I think I've just about got it sussed!
So here's my first posting - I'd like to enter this card for the current Forever Friend's challenge - "Spring".
My bear is coloured with promarkers; I've used Basic Grey papers, a MS doily lace punch, a flower from stash with a liqiud pearl centre, and my new woodware fern leaf punch.cazsmumhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07145545927351118721noreply@blogger.com6tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-155929429410345246.post-88522581669608944262009-09-21T21:46:00.003+01:002009-09-21T21:49:23.529+01:00MSE Scraps Challenge
Here's my 2nd card for the evening. The latest challenge on MSE is to use your old scraps (offcuts) of paper on a card. I've gone one further - the image was also a scrap. After I coloured the image I managed to guillotine through the little chap's head. For whatever reason, I didn't throw him away (pack-rat, moi?), so here he is with an extra bit of DST. ;)cazsmumhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07145545927351118721noreply@blogger.com7tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-155929429410345246.post-86364702905527611982009-09-21T21:35:00.003+01:002009-09-21T21:39:17.275+01:00CCC Recipe Challenge
A flying visit from me to upload 2 cards. The bow on the ribon was a little flat on one side here, I've since managed to unstick it so it's even on both sides. :)cazsmumhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07145545927351118721noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-155929429410345246.post-77051873665485352882009-07-19T13:27:00.003+01:002009-07-19T13:36:00.054+01:00Funky Fairys Challenge #25
I will start this post with an apology - I am pedantic!! It actually pains me to type "Fairys"; to my mind it should either be "Fairies" or "Fairy's" - I am, however, being faithful to the spelling used on the Funky Fairys Challenge blog.
Okay, rant over. *blush*
The challenge this week is to follow a sketch, and you must use at least one Funky Fairys product - in this case the pink swirls paper (downloaded from the Funky Fairy Inspiration blog).
I know I usually blame my poor photography skills for making my cards look wonky, but I have actually stuck the top butterfly askew. Oh well, I'll keep telling myself that this is part of the charm of homemade cards!cazsmumhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07145545927351118721noreply@blogger.com9tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-155929429410345246.post-50458277385035548752009-07-17T18:51:00.003+01:002009-07-17T19:02:45.474+01:00Two Challenges
I'm not sure if I've managed two challenges with one card before? Oh well, this one fits the Creative Card Crew Challenge #19 - Create a Scene, and the challenge over at Lili of the Valley - Animals.

I wasn't sure of the effect after attempting to trim the Secret Garden paper, so covered the dodgy tips with punched flowers. As is often the way, something that was added to cover a mistake has made the card look better than it otherwise would have looked. I'm glad I finally got the inspiration to use the card and image!cazsmumhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07145545927351118721noreply@blogger.com7tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-155929429410345246.post-58510784975367814402009-07-11T11:04:00.003+01:002009-07-11T11:10:27.791+01:00Early Morning Crafting
Having woken up ridiculously early this morning, I decided to have a play with my new Martha Stewart border punch. I don't think I went too fussy on this card (apart from the ribbon - I'm not sure about that!). The gorjuss girl image is one I had coloured and cut already, so I mounted it on white card, chalked the edges and matted onto pink card.

The card looks black in the photo, but is actually a nice chocolate brown. It looks much better in real life!

The punch - Scallop Dot - is the easiest I've ever used; if I can manage to get an even border out of it then it must be simple, lol. Now I want the Doily Lace punch even more. :Pcazsmumhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07145545927351118721noreply@blogger.com6tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-155929429410345246.post-55095331874805443522009-07-10T18:56:00.003+01:002009-07-10T18:59:31.968+01:00Swine Flu
My best friend has swine flu, so I couldn't resist an excuse to make a get well card. But that is the latest challenge on the cardmaking forum on MSE, so who am I to argue! Lol.

The stamped image is Anya from the Greetings Farm (Thanks as ever to Rusty); the sentiment came from a sheet of peel-offs that were free with a magazine; and I can't remember what or where the paper came from!
I'm not too sure about the silver fibres; they look a bit messy to me, but I like the idea of a bit of Christmassy bling.cazsmumhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07145545927351118721noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-155929429410345246.post-28385978949467192372009-06-30T18:53:00.003+01:002009-06-30T19:00:00.914+01:00Creative Card Crew Challenge: Wedding
The timing was perfect for this challenge at CCC - my friend has just asked me to make her a wedding card. :)
I'm not sure how clear the picture is - I've used a scrap of handmade paper that was too short to cover the front of the card, so I've edged it with cream lace top and bottom. I'm not sure if this entry has made it on time - I get later every week. :(
I'm not sure that I really like 12x12 papers (this one is from Basic Grey's Cupcake range); the patterns don't seem to work so well on smaller cards. I had to choose pink, even though I'm not really a girly girl (honest I'm not!). The gorjuss girl is thanks to Rusty; tags cut with the Quickutz Squeeze; swiss dots and (what do you call that pattern?) black paper under the ribbon were done on the cuttlebug.cazsmumhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07145545927351118721noreply@blogger.com6
